A-modal completion is the ability of our brains to fill in the missing pieces of objects that see partially. Tali Sharot tells Morgan Freeman that about 80% of us have developed a reality distortion mechanism to over-estimate positive outcomes. Sharot has written her book The Optimism Bias to explore this optimistic outlook.
