McDonald’s plans to expand its artificial intelligence operations globally by 2027, according to Benzinga. A major part of this effort is focused on India, where it recently opened a global office in Hyderabad, aiming to make it the largest outside the United States. The fast-food giant is currently testing AI for order accuracy at 400 restaurants and aims to deploy the system to 40,000 locations worldwide. McDonald’s is also using AI for sales forecasting, pricing, and product performance. Most of the AI investment will go toward tools and technology, rather than personnel. The move comes after a 3.4% revenue decline in the first quarter, driven by Middle East tensions that hurt sales in its International Developmental Licensed Markets. The fast-food chain entered the $100 billion beverage market in July with a new lineup of colorful iced drinks after its 2023 pivot fell short of expectations.
