A 1 million Kwacha agricultural project has been launched in Mwandi District to fight the effects of climate change and boost the local economy. A team from the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment, under the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR), visited Loanja Ward to inspect a 4-hectare piece of land allocated to the Loanja Multi-purpose Cooperative for the initiative. The project will feature a commercial borehole, fish ponds, and irrigated farming for crops like tomatoes and cabbages, with over 1,000 community members expected to directly benefit.
