I hope my connection to the site is finally restablished. Not knowing whether it is definitively restored, I post this request, a great rendition by the Imperial Dance Orchestra. This pseudonym was used for several bands, but in this case it referred to pianist Billy James, who led several Plaza Cy studio bands. Equally uncertain is the exact author of the song. During the 1910's-30's, quite a few homonymous songs were composed. The credits state it was written by a person named Hoffman. Al Hoffman was a renowned songwriter of the era, but this title is not mentioned among his works. It is more likely the name refers to Dave A. Hoffman, a vaudeville performer who collaborated with James in the composition of several songs. As for this excellent recording, it was made in 1929. Vocal by Jerry White.
