The Trump administration on Monday issued revised guidelines for distributing $5 billion in National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure funding, according to Benzinga. The changes follow a June federal court order compelling the administration to release funds to more than a dozen states, including New York, Arizona, and California. The DOT said it paused funding during a “review process” to ensure the NEVI program matched the administration’s priorities. On Monday, it issued new guidelines that streamline reviews for charging stations and remove several pre-construction requirements. LG Energy Solutions said the Trump administration’s funding freeze and tariffs reduced EV battery demand for automakers like Tesla and General Motors. The new guidelines could revive the market, where average EV prices fell 2.2% in July.
