Mr Way was presented the award from the St John Ambulance by Governor-General Sam Mostyn at a ceremony on Wednesday. It recognised his quick-thinking actions which saved the life of a St Eddie's student hit by a car outside the school in March. Even as Mr Way rendered assistance to the teenager, he had no idea his own son had also been struck by the car.
