Ahead of the release of Helldivers 2 on Xbox Series X|S on August 26, 2025, a new trailer is causing a stir.<br /><br />In the final seconds of the “Bring the Boom” trailer, there are striking parallels to Halo 3: ODST. The scene is set in a gloomy, rain-drenched city, accompanied by a jazz-like piece of music that is strongly reminiscent of the iconic ODST soundtrack.<br /><br />In addition, a drop pod can be seen that resembles the M8900 model used by the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers – a central element from Halo 3: ODST. Developer Arrowhead Game Studios has been cautious about IP crossovers so far, but ODST fits well with Helldivers 2 in terms of style and theme. Both games feature ground-based sci-fi warriors who drop into enemy territory via capsule. The aesthetics and setting of ODST naturally complement the dark, military-themed world of Helldivers 2.<br /><br />Whether this is a full crossover or merely cosmetic content such as armor, weapons, or emblems has not yet been confirmed. However, the clues in the trailer suggest that Xbox players can expect Halo-inspired content at launch. Further details may follow in the coming weeks.
