In Japan, August 15th marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II with a ceremony in honor of the millions of people who lost their lives as a result of that war. Approximately 4,500 people, including officials, family members, and descendants of the more than three million victims of the tragedy, gathered at a national ceremony held at the Budokan Hall in Tokyo. A minute of silence was held in their honor, and speakers urged the international community to advocate for a peaceful world free of nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru invited citizens to pass on the heartbreaking memories of the war as a contribution to the preservation of lasting peace.

#Japan #WWIIAnniversary #NeverAgain #PeaceForAll #teleSUREnglish
