Less than a week before Territory-wide local council elections, candidates for mayor of Darwin say they've been the subject of anonymous online smear campaigns which have turned into personal attacks. The NT's electoral commission says this year they've received more than triple the number of complaints regarding anonymous social media posts compared to the 2021 council polls.
