GRIZZLY BEAR CHASES DOWN HIKER IN INTENSE STAND OFF<br />WITH VID<br />By Ben Rudd<br />Check out the intense moment this group of hikers have a stand off with a huge grizzly bear after one woman says it chased her up a mountain path.<br />Holly Wang was out hiking in Glacier National Park, in Montana, USA, when she says the large bear made an appearance on the trail.<br />Spotting the bear, she then started running the opposite way down the path, where she luckily found another group of hikers.<br />What followed was an intense standoff with the large bear, this time backed by a group of others, who started making huge amounts of noise.<br />Filmed on the 25th of July, 2025, the intense standoff finally ended and the bear made its way in the opposite direction.<br />Fortunately, Holly says that no one was hurt by the showdown.<br />Holly, from California, USA, said: “In Glacier National Park, on the Highline Trail, I was hiking down alone when I suddenly locked eyes with a massive grizzly bear-just five or six meters away. <br />“For a split second, I thought about whether I should take a photo-it was that close! <br />“But my body reacted first: I turned around and walked away. After turning a corner where it couldn’t see me, I started speed-walking, then sprinting. <br />“My heart was begging the bear not to chase me, but deep down I knew it was about to come after me. I thought, this is the end. The last time I’d seen other people was about 40 minutes earlier, and they had gone in the opposite direction. <br />“Somehow, after running desperately for 30 or 40 meters, I saw the same group of four hikers I’d met earlier. Without even looking back, I shouted at them: ‘There’s a bear!’ I was saved. <br />“The five of us moved forward together, cautiously yelling to make noise. Just ten meters ahead, the bear appeared around the corner right in front of us. <br />“We waved our arms, raised our bear sprays, and tried to scare it off but it wasn’t intimidated at all. After what felt like forever in a tense standoff, it finally decided to let us go.”<br />ends
