The Tasmanian devil (Sarcophilus harrisii) is the world’s largest carnivorous marsupial, found only on the island of Tasmania. Known for its powerful jaws and loud screeches, it feeds on carrion and small animals, playing a key role as nature’s cleaner. Despite its fearsome name, the Tasmanian devil is shy but can be aggressive when threatened or competing for food. Sadly, it is endangered due to a contagious facial tumor disease.
