He is best known as a music promoter in Woodstock festival in 1969 . Kornfeld began to master the guitar in 1956 and later became an advocate with "Dion And The Belmonts" and "Skyliners" as a backing vocalist. He continued his musical career while studying at Adelphi College and American University, where he met with Cass Elliot of "The Mamas And The Papas". At age 20 he became the youngest vice president "Capitol Records".
