WOMAN SURROUNDED BY BUTTERFLIES ON MOUNTAIN<br />WITH VID<br />By Noel George<br />A breathtaking climb turned into an even more magical experience when hikers reached the summit of South Sister, Oregon, USA, only to be greeted by a cloud of migrating butterflies.<br />Backpacking guide Matt Maar, 37, captured his girlfriend Maggie sitting quietly, completely surrounded by California Tortoiseshell butterflies.<br />The species was in the midst of its northward migration to Canada, creating an unforgettable scene high above the ground.<br />The clip shows hundreds of butterflies fluttering gracefully around Maggie as she soaks in the moment, a rare reward after the gruelling 5,200-foot climb.<br />Matt said: “We climbed 5,200’ to the summit of South Sister outside of Bend, Oregon to find ourselves in the middle of a California Tortoiseshell butterfly migration heading north to Canada.”<br />Posted on Instagram one user commented: “Whaaaat?!
