Elon Musk’s X Tentatively Resolves Ex-Twitter Employee Lawsuit Over Severance Pay Following Mass 2022 Layoffs

Elon Musk's X is moving toward settling a class action lawsuit with ex-employees laid off after the billionaire's 2022 takeover, according to TechCrunch. Musk cut over 6,000 workers, shrinking headcount by about 80%. Musk offered three months’ severance, but many workers said they received partial or no payments. They also argued the payout was less than Twitter’s 2019 severance plan, which promised senior employees up to six months’ pay plus an additional week per year of service. A San Francisco judge previously ruled Musk was not obligated to honor those agreements, but the case had been appealed before the tentative settlement emerged.
