Google said Wednesday it reached a short-term extension with Fox to keep its channels on YouTube TV as negotiations continue over a new distribution deal, according to CNBC. The temporary agreement prevents subscribers from losing access to Fox programming, including college football’s Texas–Ohio State matchup this weekend. Google warned it could drop Fox channels if a new agreement with Fox Corp. is not reached by Wednesday’s deadline, leaving major sports broadcasts and ad revenue in jeopardy. At issue is how much YouTube pays for Fox’s content, with Google saying Fox is demanding higher fees than competitors.
