Punjab AAP MLA Harmeet Singh Dhillon Pathanmajra, arrested on rape and cheating charges, escaped police custody in Karnal on Tuesday after allegedly opening fire at officers. A policeman was injured in the firing, while another was run over during the chaos. Pathanmajra fled in a Scorpio SUV with aides, though a Fortuner used in the escape has been seized. Police have launched a manhunt to track him down.
