NATURE OF GOD'S EXISTENCE <br />El Shaddai — God’s Self-Sustaining Nature<br /><br />Exodus 6:3 – “I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as God Almighty [El Shaddai], but by my name YHWH I was not known to them.”<br /><br />Meaning of El Shaddai: Often translated “God Almighty,” but at its root it means the All-Sufficient One, the God who provides and sustains life. The image of “Shaddai” is like a mother providing nourishment — God as the One who supplies everything creation needs.<br /><br />Connection to Existence: This name reveals God as the self-sustaining source of all life. He does not need to draw life from anywhere else. Everything in creation depends on Him (Acts 17:28: “In Him we live and move and have our being”), but He depends on nothing.
