Former KMT chair and former presidential candidate Hung Hsiu-chu has travelled to Beijing with plans to attend the military parade marking Japan’s surrender in World War II.<br /><br />Taiwan’s government has banned government officials from attending the military parade and warned that people could face legal issues if they go to the event and play along with China’s propaganda campaign.<br /><br />But Hung said on Tuesday that her decision to attend the military parade is an effort to "carry forward the spirit of resistance."
