Newsmax has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Fox News in a Florida federal court, according to the BBC. The lawsuit claims Fox News used its market power to pressure TV providers into limiting rival conservative channels. Newsmax lawyers allege Fox News has used an exclusionary scheme to maintain dominance in the U.S. right-leaning pay TV news market. A Fox News spokesperson said Newsmax is suing to distract from its own inability to attract viewers. The lawsuit alleges Fox News engaged in exclusionary tactics, including restrictive content deals, financial penalties, intimidation of guests, and targeting Newsmax executives. The suit seeks a court ruling declaring Fox News’ actions unlawful, blocking future exclusionary contracts, and awarding monetary damages.
