Giorgio Armani customers in Beverly Hills learn of his death

Designer Giorgio Armani, who helped put Italy at the forefront of global fashion and dressed Hollywood stars, has died at the age of 91, his company says in a statement on Sept. 4, 2025. Armani started the company 50 years ago and was well-known for combining the flair of a designer with business acumen. Armani's minimalist style, particularly for jackets, was an instant success in the United States in the late 1970s and 1980s, particularly among women, who found in his aesthetic a perfect balance of elegance and strength in what was back then still a masculine-led working world. A funeral chamber will be opened this Sept. 6 and 7 in Milan, the city he made his home, to allow mourners to pay their respects. His funeral will be held on Sept. 8 in private.

REUTERS VIDEO

Subscribe to The Manila Times Channel - https://tmt.ph/YTSubscribe
Visit our website at https://www.manilatimes.net

Follow us:
Facebook - https://tmt.ph/facebook
Instagram - https://tmt.ph/instagram
Twitter - https://tmt.ph/twitter
DailyMotion - https://tmt.ph/dailymotion

Subscribe to our Digital Edition - https://tmt.ph/digital
Sign up to our newsletters: https://tmt.ph/newsletters

Check out our Podcasts:
Spotify - https://tmt.ph/spotify
Apple Podcasts - https://tmt.ph/applepodcasts
Amazon Music - https://tmt.ph/amazonmusic
Deezer: https://tmt.ph/deezer
Tune In: https://tmt.ph/tunein

#TheManilaTimes
#WorldNews
#GiorgioArmani
