Hong Kong received heavy rain and wind Monday as Tropical Storm Tapah also affected mainland China. On Sunday night, Hong Kong's observatory raised its number 8 storm signal, the third-highest in the city's weather system. At 9 a.m. local time, it reported that Tapah had maximum sustained winds of about 110 kilometers per hour near the center. Two people were injured in the storm and sent to a hospital for treatment.
