This is the 999 call Alex Rose made to police just hours after the fatal collision in Sunbury Cross. In the call, Rose falsely reported that his black Ford Ranger Raptor had been stolen.
Detectives quickly established that this was a deliberate attempt to mislead officers and cover up his involvement. The vehicle had in fact been used in the pursuit and collision that killed William Birchard and Darren George.
Rose later admitted perverting the course of justice. He has now been convicted of two counts of murder, alongside Charles Pardoe, following the four-week trial at Guildford Crown Court.
