AIADMK chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday to submit a petition seeking the Bharat Ratna for freedom fighter and social reformer Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar. The meeting lasted about 20 minutes, followed by a private 10-minute discussion between EPS and Shah. Sources said EPS urged Shah not to engage with any AIADMK leaders, including expelled members, under the pretext of party unification.
