Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham completed its 2025 hop harvest with the support of its volunteer 'Hoppers', who helped gather and process the crop despite challenging growing conditions.

Normally, the hop plants form archways over the wires in the fields, but this year’s dry weather meant the bines were noticeably lighter and the overall yield was down. Even so, tractor-loads of hops were brought in and fed through the hop machine to separate the cones, which were then dried and stored for brewing.

Hogs Back grows several varieties on its estate, including Farnham White Bine, Fuggle and Cascade, which are used across its beers, including the flagship TEA (Traditional English Ale).
