Danao City in Cebu holds annual Sept. 21 festival<br /><br />The streets of Danao City in Cebu are set to burst with color and rhythm on Sept. 21, 2025 as it celebrates the 45th Karansa Festival. The festival, which began in the 1980s, showcases the city’s pottery heritage through the signature dance steps 'Kiay, Kurug, Karag, Karahay.' Vice Mayor Carmen Remedios Durano said 10 contingents representing clustered villages and school districts would compete in street dancing starting at 1 p.m., followed by the grand showdown and Festival Queen competition at 6 p.m. Governor Pamela Baricuatro will join as special guest.
