Savannah Bentham's parents wiped away tears as the court heard how Savannah was fatally injured by the family’s pet XL Bully, Biggie — a dog they had always described as “lazy”.<br />Savannah was alone in the family’s static caravan near Malton when the dog attacked, causing fatal neck injuries.<br />She was found in a foetal position, with the dog nearby and covered in blood.<br />Despite the efforts of neighbours and paramedics, she could not be saved.<br />The inquest heard Biggie was fully legal, microchipped and had no known history of aggression.<br />Coroner Jon Heath concluded that Savannah died from injuries inflicted by the family dog and offered his condolences to her parents.<br />The inquest has now concluded.
