BEAR PLAY FIGHT FOR PRIME SPOT CAPTURED IN ACTION
WITH PIX AND VID
By Shuk Yee Tsang
A dramatic clash between brown bears was caught on camera, where the annual salmon run brings these normally solitary animals together in a feeding frenzy.
Christopher Ang, from New York, USA, captured the intense moments of bears wrestling and posturing to secure the best spots along the waterfall, in Brooks Falls in Alaska.
The video shows bears circling, swiping, and locking paws in a display of strength and dominance.
Each interaction is brief but intense, with bears occasionally turning into the water or colliding mid-fish.
Ang notes that capturing the precise instant when two bears engage in a playful, yet competitive wrestle requires split-second timing, keen focus, and a lot of patience.
These rare images and videos highlight not only the bears’ physical power but also the delicate balance of nature at Brooks Falls.
For a few fleeting moments, instinct, opportunity, and raw wildlife energy converge, creating a spectacle few ever witness in person.
Christopher said “Normally, brown bears are territorial, but here the abundance of salmon allows them to tolerate each other, though competition is fierce.
“You can’t predict their moves.
“One bear lunges one way, another reacts instantly. It’s pure chaos until suddenly, everything aligns for the perfect moment.”
END
