A trailer carrying more than 60 tonnes of beer overturned on the Mexico–Piramides Highway in Ecatepec de Morelos on Thursday morning, paralysing traffic and prompting local residents to loot the cargo.<br /><br />Footage shows the double-trailer truck on its side as people stacked cases of beer and hauled them away in plastic bags and boxes.<br /><br />Preliminary reports said the driver lost control while on a curve en route to Mexico City, causing the vehicle to overturn. Only one narrow lane remained open, with local media reporting long tailbacks in both directions.<br /><br />Members of the National Guard, firefighters and Civil Protection units attended the scene.
