Caracas holds disaster drill after recent quakes<br /><br />Citizens of Caracas take part in a disaster-prevention drill conducted by security forces and civil protection agencies on Sept. 27, 2025 to brace for potential natural disasters after the northwestern state of Zulia endured a spate of earthquakes this week. Four earthquakes hit northwestern Venezuela within a span of several hours on Sept. 25 and Sept. 26, including two powerful tremors exceeding magnitude 6.0. There were no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage. Drills were held in the country's 23 states and the Capital District.
