Hurricane Humberto has rapidly intensified into a powerful Category 5 storm before slightly weakening to a Category 4 — and it’s heading toward Bermuda. With maximum sustained winds of 140 mph, this major hurricane is already generating dangerous surf and rip currents across the Atlantic, threatening areas from the Virgin Islands to the U.S. East Coast.

But that’s not all — Tropical Storm Imelda just formed and could become a hurricane in the next 24–48 hours. It’s already dumping heavy rain on Cuba and the Bahamas, with flooding and mudslides a real concern.

Forecasters are also watching for a rare weather phenomenon — the Fujiwhara effect — where two storms may interact.
