MOTHER ORCA AND CALF SHARE SHARK MEAL IN RARE ENCOUNTER<br />With VID<br />By Devanshu Yadav<br />A rare and intimate encounter between a mother orca and her calf was captured off the coast of Baja California Sur.<br />Valentine Chassagnon from Mexico, joined members of the local coastal community on a trip originally planned to spot mantas when news came of orcas nearby.<br />For many of the locals it was the first time they had ever seen the animals in the wild and what began as fear quickly turned to awe.<br />Valentine filmed as the mother and calf shared a shark meal before tenderly cuddling in the water.<br />At one point the calf carried a small piece of shark to the surface and vocalized while calmly approaching with its mother to scan the group with curiosity.<br />Valentine said: “It made me feel incredibly grateful and humbled. To witness such an intimate moment between a mother and her calf, and to share it with the local community, felt like a true privilege.”<br />“Encounters like this are not common, even if social media may give the impression that they are.”<br />ENDS
