The northeastern coast of Taiwan is bracing for natural threats it knows all too well. <br /><br /> <br /><br />At 9:21 a.m. today, an earthquake alert went out across Taiwan. This alert was a part of three-day drills synced with Taiwan’s National Disaster Prevention Day on September 21. Twenty-six years ago, the devastating Jiji – or 921 – Earthquake struck Taiwan. <br /><br /> <br /><br />These annual drills serve as a memorial to those lost and are a vital educational tool for the public on how to respond when disaster strikes.
