I HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE DENTIST IN OVER A DECADE <br /> <br />WITH VID AND PIX <br /> <br />BY KIARA WELLS <br /> <br />This mum is going viral after candidly admitting that she hasn’t been to a dentist in over a decade!<br /> <br />In a video that quickly struck a chord, Chastity McCord revealed the shocking state of her teeth and gums, confessing that her greatest insecurity has always been her smile.<br /> <br />The 29-year-old from Tennessee, USA, shared shocking videos of the chunks that she pulled from her gums. <br /> <br />She said: "I did my routine and guess what? I picked out another big old chunk.<br /> <br />"I haven’t been to a dentist in over a decade. I have had four babies.”<br /> <br />The mum traced her dental struggles back to childhood, explaining that she didn’t see a dentist until middle school, when she got braces. <br /> <br />But without consistent appointments, her treatment dragged on for five years. <br /> <br />Chastity also revealed how years of neglect have taken a toll, saying she hasn't brushed or flossed her teeth nearly as much as she wishes she did. <br /> <br />The emotional confession turned hopeful when McCord shared that she was finally ready to face her fears.<br />After plucking up the courage to let a dentist loose on her mouth, Chastity made an appointment and her anxieties around the idea were slowly calming down. <br />To her surprise and relief, her first appointment was a success, as she notes how nice her doctors was along with the process being easy to handle. <br /> <br />She said: “Honestly, I have not taken care of my teeth like I should. I brush but I don’t floss regularly. <br /> <br />"My gums are swollen, red, receded. It’s getting to the point now. I have really severe tooth pain, and I think I’m going to lose one of my bottom teeth.<br /> <br />“This is my greatest insecurity, the biggest shame that I carry. <br /> <br />"Yeah, I’m ready to do something about it. <br /> <br /> “It was such a great experience. The student, she was so sweet, so kind, so knowledgeable. I got x-rays done. <br /> <br />“I really want to get this big chunk off the back of my bottom tooth because it’s just killing me.<br /> <br />"I can definitely tell the improvement. I used to pour when I brushed my teeth and now there’s like hardly any at all. It’s insane.”<br /> <br />ENDS
