A RYDER Cup cop has been slammed over his reaction to a Team Europe putt.<br /><br />The dust may have settled at Bethpage Black, but some fans are still animated about the weekend's play.<br /><br />Team USA fell to a first defeat on home soil since 2012 despite a valiant final day effort that saw them close to the ap, only to lose 15-13.<br /><br />However, it appears not every American was disheartened by the Team Europe victory.<br /><br />One day, two of the c,u p a cop was spotted cheering on the European side.<br /><br />After Viktor Hovland sank his first putt of the Saturday foursome session, a police officer standing next to the green began applauding.<br /><br />He watched intently as the Norwegian produced a great shot to go one up, and even fist pumped once he saw the ball drop.<br /><br />Hovland and his partner Bob McIntyre went on to secure a point for Team Europe as they defeated Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley.<br /><br />Several fans were disappointed with the cop's reaction.<br /><br />One reader says, ng: "This cop's reaction to Viktor Hovland sinking this putt is a fireable offense."<br /><br />And another commented: "Jail."<br /><br />A rowdy Ryder Cup saw a number of Team Europe players on the receiving end of jibes and abuse, including Rory McIlroy.<br /><br />Hovland's partner, McIntyre, even shared a compilation of some of the taunts he received out on the green.<br /><br />The Scot was the target of abuse from American trash talkers throughout the weekend.<br /><br />One American fan was heard shouting "you bloody w***er" - a swearword not in common usage on this side of the Atlantic.
