Nicolas Calabrese, a Brazilian member of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), landed on Monday at Rio de Janeiro after being released by Israeli authorities.

Activists gathered to welcome Calabrese at the airport with flags and banners, chanting slogans and cheering at his arrival, while the Brazilian hugged friends and family members after his release.

"The arrest was very violent, a boarding on the high seas, in the middle of darkness, with many rifles, many weapons pointed at us, so it was a terrifying scene," explained Calabrese, adding that "there was little access to water and food at first, and then no access at all, only water and no food. There was constant physical violence, pushing, pulling, and ripping things off."

The flotilla was intercepted by Israeli forces last week, with deportations of activists ongoing. Israel has denied the claims of mistreatment made by those detained.

Follow us on:
WhatsApp cutt.ly/WhatsAppCFM
https://twitter.com/capitalfmkenya/
https://www.facebook.com/capitalfmkenya
https://www.instagram.com/capitalfmkenya

Subscribe to Capital FM News for More: https://goo.gl/um4AGk

98.4 Capital FM
93.0 Western Kenya
98.5 Nakuru and Nyeri
104.5 Malindi
102.7 Garissa
103.9 Meru
106.5 Kitui
104.9 Voi

#CapitalFmKenya #Flotilla
