<br /><br />During the Finval-2023 tactical exercise conducted by the Russian Pacific Fleet, standby MiG-31 fighter jets were launched from Anadyr Airfield on the Chukotka Peninsula to intercept a simulated cruise missile over the Chukotka and Bering Seas.<br />The crews successfully completed the air defense mission, destroying the targets with air-to-air missiles.<br />The drill involved about 10,000 service members and over 50 combat units, including submarines, warships, helicopters, and Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems.<br />The purpose of Finval-2023 is to strengthen the defense of the Northern Sea Route and enhance Russia’s readiness in the Arctic.<br /><br />đź“Ť Location: Chukotka Peninsula, Russia<br />📆 Date: September 19, 2023<br />📸 Source: Russian Ministry of Defense / Telegram @mod_russia
