Some Israelis wish Trump had won Nobel Peace Prize<br /><br />A wave of affection and gratitude sweeps across Israel after a Trump-brokered deal paved the way for the expected return of dozens of hostages on Oct. 10, 2025. The joy was laced with mild disappointment that Donald Trump was not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize despite the US president having aggressively lobbied for the award and touted his role in brokering international ceasefire deals. Nominations for the Nobel must have been made before Jan. 31 to be valid for this year's prize. Trump returned to the White House for his second term in office on Jan. 20.
