BROWN FISH-OWLS MOBBED BY FLYCATCHERS<br />WITH VID<br />By Dev Yadav<br />A rare daytime encounter at Kumana National Park, Sri Lanka, shows a pair of brown fish-owls being harassed by a pair of much smaller Indian paradise-flycatchers.<br />Ecologist and tour leader Nicholas Royal, from Queensland, Australia, captured the dramatic wildlife moment while on tour with Unearth Adventure.<br />The owls had been unsuccessfully hunting frogs at a small lagoon when the feisty flycatchers began swooping at them relentlessly.<br />Brown fish-owls are unusual among owls for foraging during daylight hours and in this case, their rare daytime activity drew some very unwelcome attention.<br />The fascinating encounter was shared on Instagram where one user commented: “This owl looks fed up.”<br />Another added: “Omg leave him alone!!!
