Britain's King and Queen visit Basilica, meet with priests and sisters in Rome

Britain's King Charles and Queen Camilla are warmly welcomed on Oct. 23, 2025 by a large crowd outside the Basilica of Saint Paul in Rome during their first state visit to the Holy See since Pope Leo's election. The Royals attended a ceremony in the Basilica, where Charles became a Royal Confrater of the Abbey and was gifted a special seat in the apse, designated for the King and his successors during future visits. Camilla also met Catholic Sisters from The International Union of Superiors General (IUSG), learning about the work they do, often in hostile environments. Charles and Camilla's state visit to the Vatican aimed to underscore closer ties between the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion, five centuries after their historic separation.

AGENCY POOL / VATICAN MEDIA VIA REUTERS

Subscribe to The Manila Times Channel - https://tmt.ph/YTSubscribe
Visit our website at https://www.manilatimes.net
Follow us:
Facebook - https://tmt.ph/facebook
Instagram - https://tmt.ph/instagram
Twitter - https://tmt.ph/twitter
DailyMotion - https://tmt.ph/dailymotion

Subscribe to our Digital Edition - https://tmt.ph/digital

Check out our Podcasts:
Spotify - https://tmt.ph/spotify
Apple Podcasts - https://tmt.ph/applepodcasts
Amazon Music - https://tmt.ph/amazonmusic
Deezer: https://tmt.ph/deezer
Stitcher: https://tmt.ph/stitcher
Tune In: https://tmt.ph/tunein
Soundcloud: https://tmt.ph/soundcloud

#themanilatimes
#tmtnews
#worldnews
