PEOPLE THINK I'M A MAN WHEN THEY HEAR MY VOICE <br />WITH VID AND PIX<br />By Hannah Hodgetts and Kiara Wells<br />A woman with an unusually deep voice has revealed that people constantly mistake her for a man.<br />Abigail Virginia, 24, from Nashville, Tennessee, USA, has gone viral for her naturally deep voice, which often leaves people stunned when they hear her speak or sing.<br />The musician explained that she’s often called ‘sir’ in drive-thru's and on the phone, and has to raise her pitch in order to stop being mistaken. <br />She said: “Advantages of having a deep voice as a female - people almost have to listen to you because the tonality in your voice is so distinct and it makes people listen. <br />“There's just something about it.”<br />She told how deep tone has even caused confusion on television as after performing on a national singing show, many viewers assumed she was a man. <br />Despite the occasional mix-up, she’s also learned to see it as a strength.<br />The unique tone leaves listeners engaged and can even scare unwanted people away. <br />She added: “If you need to scare away a scary man, you can make your voice even deeper and be like, ‘bro, get out the way’ and really scare them. <br />“Those are some advantages. <br />“I started to talk to them and they're like, ‘I did not expect that to come out of your little body’.”<br />ENDS
