At least 23 people are dead and multiple others are injured after a fire at a discount store in Mexico. At around 3:09 p.m. local time on Saturday, Nov. 1, an explosion occurred at Waldo’s in Hermosillo that caused a blaze while the store was busy with people shopping for Day of the Dead celebrations, local news outlets La Jornada, Excelsior and El Sol De Mexico reported. Children were among the at least 23 people killed and 12 others were injured, according to the outlets. Sonora Attorney General Gustavo Salas Chávez said the preliminary investigation suggests the deaths were due to inhalation of toxic gases.
