Police in Wichita, Kansas, have arrested former TV news anchor Angelynn Elizabeth Mock, 47, in connection with the fatal stabbing of her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers.<br /><br />According to a statement from the Wichita Police Department, officers responded to a call around 7:50 a.m. on October 31 reporting a possible stabbing at a home in southeast Wichita. When officers arrived, they found Mock outside the residence. Inside, they discovered Avers unresponsive in her bed with multiple stab wounds.<br /><br />Avers was rushed to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 8:30 a.m. Mock was also taken to the hospital for unspecified injuries before being booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder.
