Healthy PH forest cover needed to protect geothermal fields, says Energy chief<br /><br />As the forest cover in the Philippines is thinning due to deforestation, urbanization, mining and quarrying, Energy Secretary Sharon Garin underscores the importance of a healthy forest cover to help the operations of geothermal fields that produce power and boosts the country's energy supply. <br />Garin issued the statement in an interview with The Manila Times during the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA) conference at the SMX SM Aura in Taguig.
