Irina Dolinina has become the first woman in the world to command an Ansat helicopter, operating in the Magadan region of Russia’s Far North.<br /><br />The Russian pilot was recognized as the world’s first female commander of the Ansat — a light multipurpose helicopter manufactured by the Kazan Helicopter Plant, part of the Russian Helicopters holding company under the State Corporation Rostec.<br /><br />Dolinina currently serves with Aviation of Kolyma, an operator that conducts flights in one of the country’s most challenging regions, known for its harsh weather conditions and difficult terrain.<br /><br />Source and images: Aviation of Kolyma | Russian Helicopters | Rostec
