Set in a remote, impoverished mountain village, the film tells the heartfelt story of a left-behind child named Yaya. Longing for her migrant-worker mother to return home, Yaya believes her grandmother’s well-intentioned lie: “Collect 81 fifty-cent coins, and your mother will come back.” Driven by this hope, she embarks on a journey of collecting discarded items to exchange for coins.<br />Through the eyes of a child, the film portrays the tension between emotional longing and harsh realities of survival. In the end, with the help of kind-hearted people, Yaya recovers her lost coins and reunites with her mother—completing a poignant emotional circle.
