The next year he defended the title against Larry Holmes before losing it to Frank Bruno. McCall is also known for an infamous in-ring mental breakdown during his 1997 rematch with Lewis. McCall's son, Elijah, is also a heavyweight professional boxer. McCall is known for having never been knocked down in any of his 78 professional bouts and possessed one of the most durable chins of his time.
