Joyner Lucas has fired back—complete with alleged receipts—after DJ Vlad filed a federal copyright infringement lawsuit against him for reposting a VladTV interview clip without authorization.<br /><br />On Friday, Lucas shared screenshots suggesting that Vlad—or someone from his team—had repeatedly reached out to book him for a VladTV interview. According to Lucas, Vlad even offered to withdraw the lawsuit if the rapper agreed to appear on his show. However, talks reportedly fell apart when Lucas’s manager, Dhruv Joshi, sent a profanity-laced message from the rapper’s phone, firmly rejecting the proposal. In the message, Lucas made it clear he had no plans to ever sit down with Vlad, accusing him of attempting to “extort” an interview.<br /><br />Lucas addressed the situation on social media, writing in his caption:<br /><br />“When you get sued because you didn’t wanna do an interview. You wanted clout, so here’s your clout…<br /><br />In the lawsuit, Vlad (real name Vlad Lyubovny) and his company, Hot In Here, Inc.—the parent organization of VladTV—are seeking up to $150,000 in statutory damages, attorney’s fees, and a permanent injunction to prevent Lucas from reposting VladTV content in the future.<br /><br />The complaint alleges that Lucas uploaded a five-minute clip from a VladTV interview with comedian Aries Spears mocking British rappers to his X (formerly Twitter) account on July 6. Vlad claims Lucas removed the VladTV watermark and failed to credit the source. The video allegedly went viral, garnering over 4.4 million views, 20,000 likes, and thousands of reposts before being taken down after a DMCA notice.<br /><br />Vlad’s legal team contends that Lucas intentionally used the copyrighted video to boost his online engagement and promote his brand.
