A sensational robbery took place on Tuesday afternoon near Bheru Dungri in the Lalghati police station limits of Shajapur district, where two men disguised as sadhus looted a family travelling from Indore to Sarangpur for a wedding.<br /><br />A viral video shows the accused blocking the road on NH-52 and snatching gold jewellery from women sitting inside the car. The incident triggered massive public anger online.<br /><br />According to complainant Shahrukh, four men dressed as sadhus suddenly stood in front of the vehicle and, under the guise of offering blessings, forcibly took two gold rings and a gold chain with a pendant. They allegedly threatened the family with death when they resisted before fleeing towards Indore or Ujjain.<br /><br />Following the viral video, police launched immediate action. By Tuesday evening, Ujjain police arrested seven members of a gang that routinely posed as sadhus to commit robberies across Ujjain, Dewas, and Shajapur districts.<br /><br />Ujjain SP Pradeep Sharma said the gang was also involved in multiple robberies in Delhi and Haryana in August 2025.
