Changing course on the release of the Epstein files, President Trump says he would sign legislation compelling the Department of Justice to release the files of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein if such a bill passes the House and Senate and reaches his desk. He’s also calling on House Republicans to vote in favor of releasing the files, saying Republicans have nothing to hide.<br /><br />The Trump administration is also touting its economic agenda. The president announced that he will likely issue tariff dividend checks sometime in the middle of next year. Meanwhile, he says he’s open to speaking directly with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as he weighs a decision on whether to launch strikes in Venezuela.<br /><br />The Supreme Court says it will hear a case deciding whether the U.S. must process asylum claims from people attempting to cross the U.S.–Mexico border.
