Before Ultraman's appearance, its primary mission was investigating strange incidents distinct from typical police cases. After Ultraman's arrival, its main duty is protecting Earth from monsters and invaders. Naturally, supporting Ultraman becomes part of this mission, though combat against monsters remained a special assignment.
